Help

BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Storm Dragi-Eberhard

Perils AG on Thursday estimated insured property losses from a two-pronged storm system that hit Europe on March 9-10 at €740 million ($835.9 million).

Cyclone Dragi-Eberhard hit the British Isles and Western and Central Europe, leaving two people dead in Germany and one in Belgium, the Zurich-based catastrophe loss data modeler said in a statement.

The storms associated with the event were named Dragi and Eberhard by the Free University of Berlin. Dragi was the weaker of the two and struck on March 9. It was followed March 10 by Eberhard, with both affecting the British Isles, France, the Benelux states, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, according to the statement.

An updated insured loss estimate will be released June 10, Perils said in the statement.
