Safety National expands casualty field underwriting team

Safety National Casualty Corp. on Monday announced organizational changes to the company’s casualty field underwriting management roles.

Steve Cotnoir has assumed the role of Atlanta-based executive director of casualty field underwriting, after working as vice president, large casualty. In his new position, he will provide leadership over national field casualty and production underwriting. Mr. Cotnoir will report to Seth Smith, executive vice president of underwriting, according to a statement.

Now serving under Mr. Cotnoir, Dennis Zervos, based in New York, was named regional vice president, underwriting, after serving as vice president, large casualty. In his new position, he will provide leadership over field casualty and excess production underwriting for Safety National’s New York and Philadelphia regional offices, according to the statement.

Scott Thompson, formerly assistant vice president, large casualty, has assumed the role of vice president, large casualty, based in San Francisco. In this position, he will provide leadership over casualty and production underwriting for Safety National’s San Francisco and Los Angeles regional offices. Mr. Thompson will also report to Mr. Cotnoir, according to the statement.

Russ Edwards, formerly regional underwriting manager, large casualty, has assumed the role of assistant vice president, large casualty. In this position, he will provide leadership over casualty and production underwriting for Safety National’s Atlanta regional office. Mr. Edwards will also serve on Mr. Cotnoir’s team and will be based in Atlanta, according to the statement.
