BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Munich Re America executives

Munich Reinsurance America Inc. has named several senior executives to newly created positions as it realigned the executive leadership team for its reinsurance division, the company said in a statement Monday.

Underwriting responsibility will be shared among several executives who will also serve as members of the reinsurance division executive leadership team, effective Feb. 1, the statement said.

Gerry Skalka has been named head of casualty underwriting and Martin Neuhaus was named head of specialty lines and facultative underwriting, including professional liability/cyber, credit and surety and marine, the statement said.

Tim Brockett was named head of innovation and strategic products and, effective November 2018, Mike Quigley was named head of property underwriting, the statement said.

Other changes on the executive team include Stephan Hochburger, client executive; Oliver Horbelt, head of capital partners; Paul Ludwig, client executive; Sam McCroskey, client executive; Risa Ryan, head of strategy and analysis; and Joe Stuhl, broker executive.

“The new positions and realigned U.S. Reinsurance Division Executive Leadership Team reflect a flatter underwriting structure and a greater focus on our innovation efforts,” said Steve Levy, CEO and president of the reinsurance division.

All of the executives are located in Princeton, New Jersey, and the realignment will not involve any redundancies, a spokeswoman for the company confirmed in an email.
