Gloria Brosius takes over as RIMS president in 2019

Gloria Brosius, director, risk management and insurance for Pinnacle Agriculture Distributions Inc. in Loveland, Colorado, assumed the presidency of the Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. effective Tuesday.

Ms. Brosius has been a member of RIMS for 22 years and joined the RIMS board of directors in 2014, according to a RIMS statement issued on Wednesday. She also served as president of the RIMS Rocky Mountain Chapter in Denver from 2005-2006. She succeeds Robert Cartwright, Exton, Pennsylvania-based safety and health manager of Bridgestone Retail Operations LLC.

Steve Pottle, director, risk management services, Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia and previously director, risk management services, York University in Toronto, will remain vice president of RIMS in 2019.

Laura Langone, senior director, global risk management and insurance, PayPal Inc. Holdings in San Jose, California, is the 2019 RIMS treasurer.

Barry Dillard, director, risk strategies, insurance and compliance, Walt Disney World Resorts in Burbank, California, is the 2019 RIMS secretary.

The new members of the RIMS board are David Arick, assistant treasurer, global risk management, International Paper Co. in Memphis, Tennessee; and Gary Nesbit, senior director of risk management, Young Life in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The incumbent RIMS board members are Ellen Dunkin, senior vice president, general counsel and chief risk officer, Amalgamated Life Insurance Co. in White Plains, New York, Susan Hiteshew, senior director, insurance-Americas, Marriott International Inc. in Bethesda, Maryland, Soubhagya Parija, senior vice president and chief risk officer, New York Power Authority in White Plains, New York, Kristen Peed, director of corporate risk management, CBIZ Inc. in Cleveland, Jennifer Santiago, director, risk management, Novartis Pharmaceutical Corp. in Basel, Switzerland, Patrick Sterling, senior director, legendary people and risk Texas Roadhouse in Louisville, Kentucky, and Robert Zhang, China risk and compliance manager, IKEA (China) Investment Co. Ltd. in Shanghai, China.
