Swiss Re Corporate Solutions appoints global casualty exec

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions named Philippe Aerni to be global head of casualty, financial and professional lines, effective Jan. 1, the unit of Swiss Re Ltd. said in a statement Thursday.
In his expanded role, Mr. Aerni will be responsible for products and global markets for the two lines of business, the statement said.
Based in Zurich, he will continue to report to Serge Troeber, chief underwriting officer, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
Mr. Aerni assumes the global casualty lead from Daniel Vetter, who was named head of excess and surplus for North America.
Mr. Aerni joined Swiss Re in 2003 and was most recently head of financial and professional lines.
"Since 2014, Philippe has successfully led our financial and professional lines and continuously expanded our product offering," Mr. Troeber said in the statement.
