BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Rats! Suit over gnawable soy in Toyota engine wiring tossed

The switch to soy wasn’t so healthy for Toyota owners, who claim that rats took a liking to plant-based substance used to fashion their cars’ engine wiring.

And the attorney for people whose vehicle engines were damaged by rats said he may continue to fight the carmaker, which no longer uses petroleum to fashion engine wiring — much to the delight of the rodent gnawing on the wires, according to a piece in Friday’s USA Today reporting on the recent federal court decision to dismiss a class action lawsuit filed against Toyota in 2016.

The suit can't be amended and refiled, according to the article, yet the fight may not be over.

Brian Kabateck, an attorney for the plaintiffs, said his clients are disappointed and are exploring other legal options to recoup losses, according to USA Today.

“Over the course of litigation, we’ve discovered the problem of rodents eating through soy-covered wiring is frequent and widespread, impacting tens of thousands of drivers nationwide,” Mr. Kabateck said in a press statement.
