Barbara Luck has left XL Group Ltd. to head American International Group Inc.’s North American casualty business.
An XL spokeswoman confirmed that Ms. Luck left the insurer this week. An AIG spokeswoman said she will be joining the insurer effective May 7 as head of North American casualty, general insurance.
Ms. Luck previously was president of global excess casualty at XL in New York. She began her career as a paralegal at AIG. She was named one of the 2017 Business Insurance Women to Watch.
On Thursday, AIG announced that it had recruited Anthony Vidovich from XL, which does business as XL Catlin, to be chief claims officer, general insurance, effective May 14.
AIG has recruited a string of senior executives from rivals since Brian Duperreault returned to head the insurer last year.
Since returning to American International Group Inc. in May 2017 to lead the insurer’s turnaround following disappointing financial results, Brian Duperreault has made a series of high-level appointments as he has restructured AIG’s operations.
