JLT Specialty USA selects Chicago as headquarters

CHICAGO — Brokerage JLT Specialty USA named Chicago as its U.S. headquarters on Thursday.
The unit of London-based Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group P.L.C. launched in the United States in 2014 with Denver as its main hub but did not have an official U.S. headquarters.
The office at 225 W. Wacker Drive in Chicago currently houses 60 JLT Specialty USA staff, and six of its 17 practice groups are located in the city, Michael Rice, CEO of JLT Specialty USA, said at a press conference JLT held with Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announcing the decision.
The brokerage plans to double the number of staff in the Chicago office over the next three to five years, Mr. Rice said.
Mr. Rice and Deputy CEO Pat Donnelly are based in Chicago.
