Ironshore Inc. said Wednesday it has named Steve Horton CEO of its Iron-Starr Excess Agency Ltd. unit and Susan Pateras chief operating officer of Ironshore Bermuda.

Both officials, who are based in Hamilton, Bermuda, will continue to report to Mitch Blaser, CEO of Ironshore Bermuda, Ironshore said in a statement.

Ironshore said that as CEO of Iron-Starr, Mr. Horton will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s operations across its core business lines. He will continue to serve as head of Iron-Excess, Ironshore’s initiative to expand into the London and U.S. markets.

Iron-Starr is the managing general underwriting agency writing on behalf of Ironshore Insurance Ltd., Starr Insurance & Reinsurance Limited, Hamilton Re Ltd. and Antares Syndicate 1274. 

Linn James will also be promoted to financial lines manager, reporting to Mr. Horton, the statement said.

Ms. Pateras, who will be responsible for business development on behalf of all Bermuda profit centers, will remain head of Iron-Starr’s health care practice.

Shane Rosario will assume a broader role in Bermuda as director of insurance and claims operations, reporting to Ms. Pateras, the statement said.

Ironshore is a unit of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.
