BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Former Chubb leader Dean O’Hare dies

Former Chubb Corp. Chairman and CEO Dean R. O’Hare, 75, has died, successor company Chubb Ltd. said late Monday.

Mr. O’Hare died Sunday, a Chubb spokesman said in an email. The insurer did not reveal the cause of death in its statement.

Mr. O’Hare joined Chubb as an underwriting trainee in 1963 and worked as financial analyst and assistant to Percy Chubb II, according to the statement.

He became chief financial officer in 1981, president in 1986 and chairman and CEO in 1988, a position he held until 2002.

Chubb Ltd. Chairman and CEO Evan G. Greenberg said in the statement that Mr. O’Hare not only led Chubb, “he made a real contribution to the U.S. business community in the area of international finance and trade, including his service as a member of the President's Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations.”
