American Insurance Association names public affairs leader

Maggie Seidel has joined the American Insurance Association as vice president for public affairs, effective Monday.
Ms. Seidel will lead the Washington-based association’s media relations and grassroots advocacy operations, the AIA said in a statement. She was previously a senior public relations and media strategist for the Arlington, Virginia-based Charles Koch Institute, assistant vice president of media relations and communications for the Washington-based Consumer Bankers Association and communications director for former Rep. Scott Garrett, R-N.J.
“Maggie is a strategic thinker who comprehends the invaluable role communications plays in our advocacy efforts as we strive to accomplish our member’s public policy objectives,” Leigh Ann Pusey, AIA’s outgoing president and CEO, said in a statement on Monday.
