Everest Insurance, a unit of Everest Re Group Ltd., is offering a new environmental policy for up to $10 million in capacity in a lead or excess position.
The Everest Environmental Apex policy form can be written in support of primary Everest Environmental policies or provide unsupported excess coverage over another carrier, the New York-based insurer said in a statement on Thursday. The policy can cover general liability, auto, employers liability, contractors pollution, professional liability, transportation pollution, products pollution and site pollution risks.
Everest Insurance’s environmental policies are designed for environmental contractors and consultants, as well as manufacturers and distributors of industrial chemicals, tanks and valves.
The government of the Shijiazhuang has suspended factory production in seven industries until the end of the year as part of an anti-pollution drive, Reuters reports. Factories in the pharmaceutical, cement, foundry, iron and steel, coal-electricity, coking and boiler sectors have been affected by the decision.
