BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

2015 40 Under 40 Broker Awards: AnnaCarin Jansson

Senior vice president

Integro USA Inc.

Age: 39

While AnnaCarin Jansson has been instrumental in building the merger and acquisitions practice at Integro USA Inc., she said she relishes learning the industries and nuances of her various clients as a senior vice president with the firm.

“We are just exposed to so many different types of companies, and that is one of the interesting parts and fun parts of our job,” said Ms. Jansson, who is based in Integro's New York office.

Ms. Jansson started her career as a property broker with Marsh L.L.C. before joining Integro nine years ago. Along the way, she said mentors have helped her learn important career lessons, such as how to communicate and collaborate effectively with her team members.

Building connections with colleagues and clients is one of the keys to Ms. Jansson's success throughout the years, she said.

“There is still a very important personal aspect of this field that I truly enjoy,” Ms. Jansson said.

Nick Desmarais, managing director of legal services for the Jim Pattison Group in Vancouver, British Columbia, said Ms. Jansson began working with his firm's account a year ago and has worked diligently to find cost savings for the company's insurance programs.

“You have to have trust and confidence in your broker, and she's earned that in a relatively short period of time,” said Mr. Desmarais, whose company has holdings in industries including automotive dealerships, grocery stores and advertising.

In the future, Ms. Jansson said she hopes to mentor other young brokers to help them develop their careers. She said she also aspires to play a leadership role in identifying emerging insurance risks for Integro's clients.
