BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

2015 40 Under 40 Broker Awards: Nathan Reyes

Senior vice president

Marsh USA Inc., a unit of Marsh L.L.C.

Age: 39

As the practice leader for Marsh USA Inc.'s financial and professional liability advisory team in Chicago, Nathan Reyes says he takes pride in mentoring younger brokers while helping clients to mitigate emerging risks.

Mr. Reyes joined Marsh in 2013 after spending the early part of his career at Chicago-based Near North Insurance Brokerage Inc., followed by a decade as a senior broker with Aon Financial Services Group, also in Chicago. In those roles, he developed expertise in the executive liability arena, focusing on directors and officers liability, employment practices liability, errors and omissions and other insurance coverages for public and private employers.

Now that he leads a team of about 15 Marsh employees, Mr. Reyes says he's enthusiastic about helping up-and-coming team members develop the financial and professional liability expertise that he has gained throughout his career.

“One of the great things about my current role here with Marsh is some of the younger individuals that are on the team that I work with, and the ability to be able to provide some mentorship to those individuals,” he said. “It's exciting because you can see that they are eager to learn and develop their professional skills within our space here, and it's interesting and fun to see them come along and develop through the years.”

Troy Renner, treasurer with Eden Prairie, Minnesota-based logistics firm C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc., said Mr. Reyes started working as his company's broker a few years ago and has been a fast study of the company's insurance needs.

“He quickly understood the program structure, as well as our approach to this area of risk,” Mr. Renner said. “He is very knowledgeable about the insurance market and is very helpful in applying that knowledge to our business.”
