Marsh appoints Bermuda leaders as Ezekiel retires

Marsh IAS Management Services (Bermuda) Ltd. said on Tuesday that it has named Jill Husbands chairman of Marsh IAS Bermuda and Lawrence Bird head of office for Marsh IAS in Bermuda.

Long-time Bermuda captive management figure David Ezekiel, who previously was chairman of the Marsh L.L.C. unit, will retire.

In her new role Ms. Husbands will focus on strategic growth initiatives and key client relationships and will continue as the country corporate officer of all Marsh companies in Bermuda. In his new role, Mr. Bird will focus on driving growth, Marsh IAS said in a statement.

Previously, Ms. Husbands was head of office for Marsh IAS in Bermuda and Mr. Bird was the client leader in the Bermuda office. The unit offers captive management services, among other services. Ms. Husbands succeeds Mr. Ezekiel and Mr. Bird succeeds Ms. Husbands. Mr. Ezekiel joined Marsh when the brokerage bought International Advisory Services Ltd., previously one of the largest independent captive managers in Bermuda, in 2009.

“Jill and Lawrence both are long-standing leaders at Marsh IAS and influencers in our industry,” Chris Lay, president of Marsh Captive Solutions said in the statement. “We are delighted to announce these appointments, which are reflective of Jill and Lawrence’s accomplishments.”

Both executives are based in Hamilton, Bermuda.
