Former risk manager to head Lockton practice

Brokerage firm Lockton Inc. announced Tuesday it has selected Jeff Purdy to lead its government contracting business, a company news release said.

With over 25 years of corporate risk management and insurance experience that was mainly working with government contractors, Mr. Purdy will head the government contracting practice in Washington, effective March 1.

“Jeff Purdy is a widely respected risk professional who understands first-hand the challenging risks that government contractors face,” said Bob Connolly, president of Lockton's Washington operations in the statement. “We know that our clients will embrace his practical approach and will benefit from his experience to make their own businesses better.”

Mr. Purdy, who started his risk management career at Willis Towers Watson recently held the director of risk management position at Computer Sciences Corp. Prior to that he worked for a decade at BAE Systems Inc. as the director of risk management and investments.

During his years of risk management experience Mr. Purdy was involved in over 50 U.S. and global acquisitions, the news release said.

Kansas City, Missouri-based Lockton was ranked as the world's 10th largest brokers in Business Insurance's 2015 broker directory.
