Racing cars is like managing risk, according to one global brokerage.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is sponsoring Chip Ganassi Racing in the Verizon IndyCar Series and Sébastien Loeb Racing in the World Touring Car Championship, the Itasca, Illinois-based company said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Numerous parallels exist between race car driving and managing risk,” a Gallagher spokesman said in the statement. “Both in business and on the racetrack, teams have to quickly assess, calculate and manage risk if success is to be achieved.”
Mr. Ganassi’s racing teams include four cars in the Verizon IndyCar Series, two cars in the Nascar Sprint Cup Series, one car in the Nascar XFinity Series, two factory Ford GTs in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, two factory Ford GTs in the FIA World Endurance Championship and two Supercars in Red Bull Global Rallycross, the statement said.
French auto racing team Sébastien Loeb Racing will compete in the 2016 World Touring Car Championship and will enter the World Rally Championship.
A number of festival goers reportedly were left out in the cold over the weekend when their cars fell into Wisconsin's Lake Geneva during a winter festival.
