BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

American International Group Inc. is investing $4 million with Clemson University to develop a risk engineering and analytics center and to establish a professorship in honor of its late president and CEO, Robert Benmosche.

The Clemson, South Carolina-based university’s new research center’s research will focus on such areas as improving cyber security to make systems less vulnerable to disasters, catastrophe modeling and supply chain and logistics risk, AIG said Thursday in a statement. It will also include a coastal resilience initiative focused on risks from hurricanes, floods and other natural disasters.

The Robert Benmosche endowed professorship in risk engineering and systems analytics will “develop curriculum and educational programs in the field of risk engineering and analytics, cultivate scientific investigation and research, recruit world-class faculty, and create marketable technologies that advance the field,” AIG said in the statement.

“We are pleased to team with AIG,” said Clemson President James P. Clements in the statement. “We have the opportunity to play a leadership role in research and education that can save lives and property. This important work will directly benefit multiple stakeholders, including Clemson’s students and faculty and AIG’s clients.”

Mr. Benmosche was AIG’s CEO from 2009-14 and died in March.
