BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Arthur J. Gallagher, Hartford among most ethical firms worldwide

Brokerage Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. were among the 132 companies recognized as a “World's Most Ethical Company” by the Ethisphere Institute , a New York-based think tank.

According to Ethisphere, the designation “recognizes companies that truly go beyond making statements about doing business 'ethically' and translate those words into action. Honorees not only promote ethical business standards and practices internally, they exceed legal compliance minimums and shape future industry standards by introducing best practices today.”

“Our company places a very strong emphasis on ethics, professionalism and social responsibility, and we're delighted to once again be selected as a World's Most Ethical Company,” said Gallagher Chairman, President and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher Jr. in a statement issued Monday after the announcement of the designation. “Gallagher has doubled in size since we were first recognized with this award four years ago, and our business has become increasingly complex. Ethisphere's judging process has also become more rigorous. I view this designation as a real testimony to the strength and core values of our global team.”

“The Hartford is proud to once again be recognized as a World's Most Ethical Company,” said Alan Kreczko, Hartford's executive vice president and general counsel, in a statement. “For more than 200 years, The Hartford has served our customers with honesty and integrity. Receiving this award for the seventh year demonstrates The Hartford's commitment to ethical leadership.”
