Robert Lindemann will retire as president and chief operating officer of CNA Commercial on Dec. 31, CNA Financial Corp. announced Friday.
Dave Rutkowski, senior vice president of commercial underwriting, will assume Mr. Lindemann’s responsibilities until a replacement is named, the Chicago-based insurer said in a statement.
Mr. Lindemann joined CNA as president and chief operating officer in 2009.
Since then, he has strengthened CNA’s top and bottom lines and product offerings, and helped to establish many of the company’s core segments, according to the statement.
“Bob is among the most respected underwriters and leaders in the commercial insurance industry,” CNA Chairman and CEO Thomas F. Motamed said in the statement. “He played a critical role in launching our customer segment strategy, and I want to thank him for the tremendous contributions he has made to the company and the industry.”
CNA Financial Corp. announced third quarter net income of $221 million on Monday, a 194.7% improvement over the $75 million the company earned in the same quarter last year.
