Former Integro CEO joins Edgewood Partners brokerage as COO

Former Integro Ltd. leader Peter Garvey has joined brokerage Edgewood Partners Insurance Center as chief operating officer, San Francisco-based EPIC said Thursday.
Mr. Garvey most recently served as president and CEO of New York-based brokerage Integro, which he helped co-found in 2005. He abruptly left the brokerage in May, and Integro declined to comment on his departure.
Before joining Integro, Mr. Garvey served as co-president of Marsh Inc., now Marsh L.L.C., and CEO of Marsh North America.
Mr. Garvey will be responsible in the newly crated chief operating officer position “for driving EPIC's regional growth strategies, particularly in the Northeast, and joining EPIC's executive leadership team in the ongoing execution of the EPIC 2.0 national expansion strategy,” EPIC said in a statement. He will also become a member of EPIC's operating committee.
“Pete has challenged conventional wisdom his entire career, and more often than not he's been right,” said EPIC CEO John Hahn in the statement. “He is exactly the kind of free-thinking 'what if' strategist and leader we value.”
EPIC ranked 44th on Business Insurance's latest ranking of the 100 largest brokers of U.S. business.
