BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group P.L.C. on Thursday said it has hired five former Aon P.L.C. executives to its new U.S. specialty business and plans to hire two more.

The London-based brokerage last week announced the merger of its JLT Specialty unit with its wholesale brokerage unit, Lloyd & Partners, to create JLT Specialty Insurance Services Inc. It said the merger signals its intention to significantly grow its U.S. business, where it will expand existing business lines, including energy, construction, financial liens and credit insurance.

The U.S. specialty group is being led by Michael Rice as CEO and by Patrick Donnelly as president and deputy CEO, JLT said in a statement.

The new hires from Aon are: Colin Daly, most recently a managing principal and national practice leader in Aon's U.S. financial services group; Paul Graziano, most recently an executive vice president with Aon Risk Solutions; Brian Hood, most recently a senior vice president with Aon's U.S. financial services group; Brad McDonald, most recently Western region managing director with Aon's U.S. financial services group; and David Payne, most recently co-leader of Aon's U.S. national sales.

In addition, John Peterson, co-leader of Aon's U.S. national sales, and Steve Shappell, global legal and claims practice leader with Aon's U.S. financial service group, will be joining the company in the near future, JLT said in its statement.

JLT said the appointments are subject to the fulfillment of any existing contractual obligations.

A JLT spokeswoman was not available to provide details about the executives' new appointments

Aon said in a statement, “Our specialty capabilities, including financial lines, continue to be the gold standard in the industry. As a result, our 1,800 specialty broking experts, armed with the most comprehensive set of data and analytical capabilities, will continue to provide our clients with the information and insights they can't get anywhere else.”
