Crawford acquires U.K.-based construction and engineering adjuster

Crawford & Co. has finalized the purchase of Manchester, England-based construction and engineering adjuster Buckley Scott Associates Ltd.
Acquiring Buckley Scott will help Crawford to expand its construction and engineering business in the U.K., the Atlanta-based claims management provider said in a statement Wednesday.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“The acquisition of Buckley Scott represents the latest step in our strategy to expand our presence in specialist claims handling where we can demonstrate our expertise and quality,” Ian Muress, CEO for Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia Pacific at Crawford & Co., said in the statement.
“This move will take our hard-earned specialist strengths and build on these to create a new and leading market proposition with a large team of construction and engineering professionals based in the U.K.,” Jeremy Buckley, managing director of Buckley Scott, said in the statement. “After considerable deliberation, Crawford was by far the best organization for Buckley Scott to join.”
