Aspen Insurance, the insurance unit of Hamilton, Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. is opening a regional hub in Miami to access the Latin American energy market, the company said in a statement Thursday.
The Miami office will field an expanded energy team and will begin writing business in July, the company said.
“With the recent appointment of Gary Windsor to spearhead our onshore energy expansion into Latin America, we are building an energy team focused on bringing industry leading expertise and local knowledge to support the growing demand for energy risk solutions throughout the region,” Tony Carroll, executive vice president and head of marine, energy and construction for Aspen U.S. Insurance, said in the statement.
“This is an important next step as we continue to expand our insurance operations in targeted markets around the world, and we plan to roll out additional products across Latin America in due course,” Mario Vitale, CEO of Aspen Insurance, said in the statement.
