BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Insurance and reinsurance broker Miller Insurance Services L.L.P. has combined its property/casualty specialists into one business area led by Ken MacDonald, head of property/casualty.

The six property/casualty specialists have been hired from Faber Global, a unit of Willis Group Holdings P.L.C., to help the team expand Miller’s capabilities across the globe, London-based Miller said Thursday in a statement.

Charles Lane has been named head of international casualty. Previously, he was head of casualty at Faber Global, according to the statement.

James Stringer and Fiona Woodcock will work on growing Miller’s book of international casualty clients, the broker said. Mr. Stringer is a casualty insurance broker for wholesale, retail and facultative. Ms. Woodcock is a specialist broker of casualty insurance.

Tim Sloan, with more than 15 years of claims-handling experience, has joined Miller as head of property/casualty claims, Miller said in the statement. Kevin Grimes, who was head of claims services for Sedgwick Claims Management Services Inc. earlier in his career, will provide operational support to the international casualty team. Clare Sorboen will help the team by preparing wordings, placing slips/endorsements and market reform contracts; she is a specialist in producing casualty policy wordings for international clients, according to the statement.

All of the team will be based in London.
