Munich Re America specialty markets division president resigns

Craig Smiddy, president of Munich Reinsurance America Inc.'s specialty markets division, will resign his position, Munich Re America President Tony Kuczinski said Wednesday.
Mr. Smiddy worked for Munich Re for 15 years, the last five of which he served as president of specialty markets.
“After achieving these personal milestones with Munich Re, I came to the difficult decision that my future career aspirations will best be realized by spending the next 15 years of my career working in another capacity,” said Mr. Smiddy in the statement.
“No successor has yet been named, however Smiddy will work with Munich Re America management over the coming months to transition his responsibilities,” Munich Re said in the statement.
