SCHAUMBURG, Ill.—Zurich Insurance Co. Ltd. has promoted Craig Fundum to president of its North America commercial markets and customer industry segments, the company announced Thursday.
Mr. Fundum will lead the ongoing development and execution of business strategies and operational plans for the business unit, which the Schaumburg, Ill.-based property/casualty insurer launched in 2008 to target commercial insurance customers that fell between the traditional small commercial and middle markets business segments.
He replaces Vincent Tizzio, who has been named president and CEO of Navigators Management Co. Inc.
Formerly president of programs and direct markets for Zurich, Mr. Fundum will be based in Schaumburg and will continue to report to Mike Foley, CEO of the Zurich North America Commercial unit. A successor for Mr. Fundum's former role will be announced “shortly,” Zurich said in the statement.
“Craig's broad and deep knowledge of our industry, strategic thinking and execution capabilities, and passion for helping people develop and grow position him well for his important leadership role,” Mr. Foley said in the statement.
Mr. Fundum began his insurance career in 1981 as an underwriter with Royal Insurance Group Inc. He has held various leadership positions at Zurich since joining the company in 1990.
NEW YORK—Navigators Group Inc. has appointed Vincent C. Tizzio as president and CEO of Navigators Management Co. Inc., its principal U.S. underwriting agency subsidiary.
