Former RenaissanceRe Ventures President John Nichols named AXIS Re CEO

PEMBROKE, Bermuda—John Nichols has been appointed by AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd. as CEO of AXIS Re effective April 2, the insurer said Monday.
Previously, he was president of RenaissanceRe Ventures Ltd.
Mr. Nichols will oversee all reinsurance business units and serve on AXIS Capital's executive committee. He is expected to spend time among all of the company's major offices, said a company spokesman in a statement.
He will report to AXIS Capital President and CEO John Charman.
