Crawford elevates Bonnie Sawdey to chief people officer

Crawford & Co. has named benefits executive veteran Bonnie C. Sawdey to be its senior vice president and chief people officer, a newly created position.

In that post, Ms. Sawdey is responsible for all aspects of corporate human resources, including talent acquisition, benefits and compensation design and administration. Previously, Ms. Sawdey was vice president of human resources.

“After rising through the ranks and serving Crawford for 26 years, Bonnie is well-positioned to hold this important role,” Harsha V. Agadi, Crawford's interim president and CEO, said Monday in a statement.

Ms. Sawdey joined Crawford in 1989, taking a part-time job to help pay expenses while attending a college in the Atlanta area. She has held numerous positions with the Atlanta-based third-party claims administrator since then.In 2015, Business Insurance named Ms. Sawdey its Benefit Manager of the Year® for her numerous accomplishments at Crawford, including the implementation of consumer-driven health plans, a telemedicine program, enhancing wellness programs and putting in place a pension buyout program that reduced plan liabilities by millions of dollars and slashed administrative expenses.
