BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

CHICAGO—Since companies with more diverse senior leadership perform better financially, the Business Insurance 2017 Diversity & Inclusion Institute Conference will provide insights into how the commercial insurance industry can reap this diversity dividend.

The Institute’s “Maximize Your Bottom Line: How Inclusive Cultures Pay Off,” conference, being held Sept. 18-19 in Chicago, will address ways insurers, brokers, TPAs and other industry-affiliated organizations can create more inclusive work environments to enhance employee productivity and improve customer engagement, leading to greater profitability.

This year’s conference will also feature input from corporate risk managers—the industry’s target market—sharing what they expect from their insurance industry partners. Participants in the buyer panel include:

Another session will feature key learnings from a company listed among Diversity Inc.’s Top 50 Companies: AbbVie pharmaceuticals. The company, which has 48.7% more women and 15.8% more blacks in senior management than other companies ranked by Diversity Inc., recently launched a new mentoring program that takes place in a group setting and allows participants to network with a variety of coworkers as well as receive feedback from numerous sources. The company also launched a new Diversity & Inclusion Committee, led by company executives, that is charged with promoting the business relevance of diversity and sponsoring function-wide initiatives.

This year’s conference also will feature two inspiring keynotes by notable business leaders who are champions for diversity and inclusion in their own industries: Walgreens’ Senior Executive Steve Pemberton and Lenny Comma, CEO and chairman of Jack in the Box Inc.
